| Is
this an official HRC Website ?
No - not at all. This is a Webpage of a big HRC
fan - but I have never been in any kind connected
to the HRC Company - never worked at a HRC
or for the company at all. I just visit the HRCs from time
to time. So the opinion you find on this webpage is the
opinion of JB - and has nothing to do with the opinion of
the HRC Company. The offical HRC Website is at www.hardrock.com.
I want to open my own Hard Rock Cafe.
Can you help me ?
Well, as said above I have nothing to do with the
company. So if you want to find out about opening a HRC
franchise go to the official HRC Website at www.hardrock.com
Why do the Opening Dates of HRCs change
so often ?
HRC announces from time to time Opening Dates for
new Hard Rock Cafes - some dates sharp some dates just with
the month when an Opening shall take place. But these dates
can change totally - even for month. There are various reasons
for it like problems with the restaurant itself which might
not get ready in time, problems with the local authorities
(remember: HRCs opened in almost every corner of the globe).
So whatever you read here on my website: It's the best I
can tell you - but it might change. So check
here again in the news
section to make sure you find out about the latest on
upcoming Openings.
I saw a great pin on your traders list
but want to buy it - is that possible ?
Yes, of course that is possible. Just E-Mail me
with the pin you want to buy and I will contact you as soon
as possible. Payment is easy as you can by me by Paypal
( www.paypal.com ).
Also make sure to check my small HRC Shop
where I often have HRC pins at great prices for sale.
I heard a lot about DEAD ROCKER Pins
and also of DEAD ROCKER Clones. What are these pins ?
HRC released a set of 14 Pins some years ago to
commemorate some of the greatest Rockers of all time. This
series was soon to be known as the Dead Rocker Pins. They
were released by 14 different Hard Rock Cafes - 13 of the
them in the USA and just one from Australia. They were released
in two different series:
1st Memorial Series:
- HRC Chicago: Black Gibson Acoustic w/ "ELVIS
PRESLEY"
- HRC Honolulu: Gibson Super CES400 w/ "BILL
HAILEY"
- HRC Houston: Black Gibson ES w/ "ROY ORBISON"
- HRC Los Angeles: Brown Acoustic w/ "BUDDY
HOLLY"
- HRC New Orleans: Brown & Gold Gibson Acoustic
w/ "RICK NELSON"
- HRC San Francisco: Red Gretsch w/ "EDDIE
COCHRAN"
2nd Memorial Series:
- HRC Aspen: Red Gibson ES w/ "DUANE ALLMAN"
- HRC Hollywood: Black Rickenbacker w/ "JOHN
LENNON"
- HRC Las Vegas: Green left-handed Stratocaster
w/ "KURT COBAIN"
- HRC Maui: White Fender Bass w/ "SID VICIOUS"
- HRC Newport Beach: White Vox w/ "BRIAN JONES"
- HRC Phoenix: Brown Stratocaster w/ "STEVIE
RAY VAUGHN"
- HRC San Diego: Red & White Flying V w/ "JIMMI
HENDRIX"
- HRC Sydney: Silver Veleno Guitar w/ "MARC
BOLAN"
These pins are really hot and a great part of every
HRC Pin Collection - but they are hard to get as there were
only 1500 to 3000 pins released of each Original Dead Rocker
Pin. The pins were sold out very fast (I am proud to say
that I have every single Dead Rocker in my collection) .
In 1998 HRC Company decided to release new pins
at almost every location and they thought it would be a
good idea to use the design of the old Dead Rocker Pins.
These pins became known as Dead Rocker Clones.
You can easily see which pin is a Dead Rocker and
which pin is a Dead Rocker Clone. The Original Dead Rocker
Pins all had the name of the Dead Rocker on them - and the
Dead Rocker Clones have there just the name of the city
on it.
What are Staff Pins - or Opening Staff
Pins ?
Staff Pins are pins that are usually not available
over the counter of a HRC. These Pins are made just for
the Staff of a HRC. Some pins are given to Staff-Members
at special events, some pins are given to them if they did
something special (Employee of the Month; special sale at
the Merchendise Counter) and some pins are given to them
for their anniversarys at the HRC (for example if you work
for a HRC for one year you get a special pin). These pins
are usually pretty rare - and so the prices for these pins
are high.
Opening Staffs usually are the rarest and most expensive
pins there are. These kind of pins are given only to the
few Staff-Members who opened up a Hard Rock Cafe.
